You can only imagine how excited the children get at Christmas time. Unlike our children that receive gifts (in some form) through out the year, these children really appreciate the love that is lavished on them during this special time at Christmas. Many individual sponsors of the children and several church groups, pay special attention to make sure each child receives a new pair of shoes, a set of new clothes , towels, bedding, etc., plus, one nice new toy for their very own. This is a time that they receive things of basic need. Even though the gifts themselves are not the purpose of Christmas, the love behind them all are. One of the special traditions that we do here ever Christmas Eve is to ready the Scriptures of the story of Jesus' birth, and express that He is the greatest gift of all.
Christmas Dinner for the Staff: Leah every year plans a special dinner for all the staff/missionaries here at Casa Hogar. This includes all the house parents, teachers at the school and the missionaries. This is a very nice time also.
